Hello everyone!! Hope everybody had a great holiday.
The hot tip of the week would be the outstanding striper fishing thats been going on. The bite up in the river section of the lake has been the best in about 3 years. Lots of keeper size fish are being caught up and around Blacks bridge. drifting and trolling big live shiners has been an incredible bite. Stripers have also been schooling the last hour of the day in the Buffalo creek area. Bucktails, rattletraps, jerkbaits and topwaters are a great bet for these fish.
White Perch-the perch bite has been great, But since were still having a mild kinda winter, the fish and the bait are still pretty spread out. But once you find them, it’s on!!! 30 to 45 feet of water seems to be the pattern right now!! As always, Berry’s flex it spoons is the hot ticket for these fish. reports of 13 to 14 inch white perch have been reported to me as of late. these fish are great to eat if you’ve never tried them?? Give them a try!!!
Largemouth bass-this bite is great in my opinion. these fish are shallow, deep and everywhere in between. KVD 1.0 crankbaits are hot right now shallow. this bite is from the gap up into the rivers. Small jerkbaits, Rapala countdown minnows are hot right now also, as is the good ole reliable shad raps..Fish are schooling right along with the stripers. topwater baits are also still working well, as i found out first hand yesterday

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!! Now it’s time to burn off all that turkey, and get to some hardcore fishing!!
The Smoking hot bite of the week would be for all you die hard Perch jerkers out there!! This bite is just incredible right now, and will get alot better with the cooler temps about to come in this week. White perch fishing is hot all over the lake, with very large fat eating size perch being caught. if you haven’t fried any up for supper? your truly missing out on some fine table fare. find the bait and the white perch are right there!! Bear Creek has been a hot spot for football size perch here lately!! From Rocky creek up into the rivers has also been great for white perch and stripers!! 10 pounders have been caught this past week or so!! So get on out there and get ya some!!!!!
As always a half ounce Berry’s flex-it spoon is all you need!! Anyone out there wondering where you can get them, places like sportsmans warehouse has them, and any local bait shop close to the lake will have them!! Dooleys and Lake World should have all the perch jerkin spoons you’ll ever need!!! Spoon fishing is addicting in the worst kinda way!!! I have hooked several friends on it the past few weeks. have fun and have a great week everyone!!!!!
Nothing is impossible with God. Luke 1:37
thought of the week: With God, the impossible becomes possible.
As everyone knows, the lake has been in turnover the past week or so. Fishing for anything has been pretty slow. But there’s a few species out there that don’t seem to mind? The hot bite of the week is!!
Shellcrackers-this bite is crazy hot right now, and will only get better. The full moon phase is coming in, and they like it!! Fish mini carolina rigs, or split shot rigs, with baby nightcrawlers or redworms. Secondary points with shell beds on them has been hot!! 10 to 15 feet of water has been the key depth. Also around any of the islands, has been a hot bite also. Shellcrackers up to 12 inches long have been caught. Amazing bite right now!!!
White Perch- All you perch jerkers out there should be loving this bite. The big gap all the way up into the rivers is great right now. 1/2 ounce spoons is the way to fast and furious action. Also drop shot rigs with berkley gulp minnows is catching great numbers of perch. these fish are great to eat if you’ve never tried them. Perch over 9 inches fillet up great, so give them a try.

Hello everyone!! Looks like the hot weather may be gone? Cooler days and nights have been a welcome change!! As it improves the fishing greatly here on Lake Murray!!
Stripers-This fishing is the same as in my last report!! Smokin hot, unbelievable crazy insane schooling action going on!! the best it’s been in a long time!! Topwaters, jerkbaits, bucktails, rattletraps and whatever else you may want to cast at them!! It’s all working well right now!!!! Just really great striper fishing going on right now!!!!
Largemouth bass-This action is still hot at night, topwaters being fished around lights is just crazy right now for big bass. I personnally caught a 7 pounder last thursday around a lighted dock. For the day bite, flukes and topwaters such as a spook or sammy are working well around main lake points. secondary points would be a shakey head or texas rigged worm. This bite is good also. As is the dock fishing. crankbait fishing should really pick up soon as the water temps cool.
This is the hot bite right now, will post more soon!!!
O taste and see that the lord is good; happy are those who take refuge in him. Psalm 34:8
thought for the week!!!-knowing about God is only the beginning of relationship with God.
The cooler weather seems to be here for a bit!! Cooler weather especially at night will get the fish moving, and ready to feed up for winter.
Stripers- this fishing is hot right now and has been for the past couple weeks. Crazy mad schooling action to be had, morning and evenings. Pencil poppers are being blown clean out the water right now, along with just about any other topwater bait!! Zoom flukes are a hot bait right now, along with jerkbaits, spoons and bucktails. the majority of the schooling action is from wessinger island up to the dam. Too hot to handle some days!!!!
Largemouth Bass- here’s a secret!!! if your still into night fishing for bass, then you already know!!! It’s unbelievable right now for Hawgs!!!! Humps are hot, boiling hot!!!! There crushing shakey heads on the humps right now. 4 to 5 pounders!! No kidding!!! Main lake points at night are also happening right now. it’s not a nightime topwater bite, but an extremely hot shakey head bite!! trust me, i know first hand.
White perch-all you perch jerkers are loving it right now. Find the bait, from the big gap up to the rivers, and your on the perch!! All you need is one bait!! A 1/2 ounce berry’s flex it spoon. they are crushing the spoon right now. fast and furious action to be had!!!
bream and shellcrackers- this fishing is good and will get a whole lot better with the cooler temps. Humps, secondary points and main lake points in 10 to 15 feet of water. Fish red worms and baby nightcrawlers on the bottom, with split shot rigs or mini carolina rigs. Small crankbaits and spinners will also catch alot of fish, especially if your like me and can’t sit still for very long, and love to cover water. The Great ole reliable beetle spin has been a smokin hot bait for me this whole year..
Catfishing- is still hot at night shallow, as in ten feet or less, around humps and points. fresh cut bait is key!!! Herring, bream, and them white perch all make great fresh cut catfish bait!!! have a great cool week everyone!!!
The steadfast love of the lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
thought for the week:: God’s spirit carries blessing into everycorner of life.
hello everyone!! Cooler, longer nights means that hotter fishing is right around the corner. The smokin hot bite of the week would be the Striper fishing. Tons of schooling action going on in the mornings and evenings. The full moon this week should have them going nuts, even though it’s still a tad hot out this week. the bait of the week would be the ole pencil Popper, they are blowing this thing up!!! They just can’t stand it! but also soft and hard jerkbaits are working well, bigger, heavier bucktails being cast out around the schools, and allowed to sink deeper are really catching some nice keepers. Also spoons cast out are catching good keepers. Have a great week everyone, cooler weather and great fishing is right around the corner.
Walk in the way of the good, and keep to the paths of the just. For the upright will abide in the land, and the innocent will remain in it. Proverbs 2: 20-21
thought of the day- God can lead us from death and destruction to life and hope.
Here’s the smokin hot tip of the week!!! This goes out to all you Perch jerkers out there!!! The white perch bite is screaming hot right now, but in the coolest part of the day,A friend of mine named Bruce says in the first 2 hours of the morning. 6:30am till about 8:30 am is the hot bite right now, because we all know that after 9am, it starts gettin hot fast. Check the mid lake area in 20 to 25 feet of water, at the mouth of the coves. As always a half ounce berry’s flex-it spoon is the ticket to extreme fast and furious action. Yeah there are other ways to catch them, such as a drop shot, or a minnow rig. But to me spoon fishing is about as addicting as it gets. Hook one on a spoon, and your hooked!!!! 1oo fish in 2 hours is very, very possible. It doesn’t get any better than that to me!! have fun everyone!!!
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Psalm 103:2
thought of the day: Every ending can open onto a new beginning.
To say it’s been hot, muggy, humid, or down right miserable is probably an understatement!! But hopefully cooler days are right around the corner.
Stripers-Striper fishing is good in the main lake area. Live herring fished on downlines around the towers has been great. Also trolling umbrella rigs, big crankbaits and bucktails is producing fish for those who like to cover water and stay cool with a nice summer breeze.
Largemouth bass- night bite is the way to go. It’s cooler and more tolerable. Fish shakey heads and texas rigs around boat docks. Also carolina rigs deep around points. River fishing would be buzzbaits and basic topwaters all night long, especially with the full moon phase this week. seeing better at night should be very easy!!
Catfishing-Is great at night shallow around humps and long points that come way out with deep water close by. Anchor down in about 15 to 20 feet of water, and fan cast baits deep and shallow, and everywhere in between. Shrimps, stink baits, chicken livers, nightcrawlers, and fresh cut bait all working well for catfish. A hot little bite thats been going on is to fish small pieces of cut bait around boat docks with lights. use a slip float with your bait a couple feet deep, they just come up and hammer it pretty hard. lots of nice eaters.
bream and shellcrackers- this bite is super hot because of the full moon phase, bream beds everywhere shallow, but small bream on them, fish a little deeper for the bigguns. About 10 to 15 feet deep around secondary points and humps. Nightcrawlers and redworms working well. Another little tip thats working well is to drift fish for them. They like a moving redworm, and this takes the boredom out of sitting in the hot sun. Use a lindy rig or floating Lindy rig with a redworm or nightcrawler. Let the wind push you over and around humps and points, When you catch a good un, then drop an anchor and cast to that area. This method is working very, very well right now for bigger breams and shellcrackers.
As always drink lots of fluids if your out in the hot sun,or if your a night owl this time of year like me, make sure your lights work, and your life jackets are close by, be safe everyone!!!

Thought of the day; what does the way you spend your time have to do with Jesus?
The great bite of the week would be the Bream and Shellcrackers. This past full moon has them biting really good, but a tad bit deeper. Try some redworms amd nightcrawlers on a split shot rig in 8 to 15 feet of water around humps and secondary points. this bite has been the best in years. Also try redworms on drop shot rigs around and in brushpiles in 20 to 25 feet of water. this has worked really well for me here lately!!! Bigger bream seem to be deeper around the brushpiles!!!
The largemouth Bass bite is really hot at night, Use a green pumpkin worm on a shakey head rig around boat docks. Not the floating boat docks, but the ones that won’t move. wooden posts type!! This is a really great bite right now and it’s alot cooler at night. also black Berkley power worms on a texas rig is also working very well. the 10pm till 2am bite seems to be the best time right now.
As always, if your fishing at night, have your lifejacket and flashlight with in arms reach, if not on your body!!!

Fishing brings meekness and inspiration, reduces our egoism, soothes our troubles and shames our wickedness. Herbert Hoover..
Hello everyone!! The heat is on!! Which only means one thing. To get relief from the heat fish at night. The night bite is the right bite for Stripers, catfish and Largemouth bass. So lets talk about that for a few minutes..
Stripers-Night bite is right. Great action at night with downlines and lights, the lights attract bait, which will have the stripers right there. Main lake areas are great for this type of fishing. the towers has been hot!!! And also that general area in about 40 feet of water.
Largemouth bass- for those of you who have never night fished for bass, your truly missin out on some great action. Topwaters at night around main lake points, humps and around the islands produce brutal, bone jarring strikes.Shear numbers can be caught on good nights. Also shakey head rigs and texas rigs around points, boat docks, and Marina areas.has some great action to be had!! The river sections of the lake are awesome at night also. Get some big 10 inch Berkley power worms and some Zoom ole monsters. there is alot of cover to fish up in the rivers. tons of trees, brush piles and boat docks.
Catfish- this bite is unbelievable right now!!! Hotter than South Carolina asphalt!!! Fish fresh cut bait around points and humps in about 10 to 30 feet of water. the great bite is usually from 10pm till about 2am. Action is fast and furious.
As with everything, night fishing can be dangerous!! be careful. storms can brew up fast.Make sure everything is working properly in your boat before you leave the house. have life jackets handy!! Flash lights close to your person. And basically your boat clutter free!!! Be safe everyone!!!
