The great bite of the week would be the Bream and Shellcrackers. This past full moon has them biting really good, but a tad bit deeper. Try some redworms amd nightcrawlers on a split shot rig in 8 to 15 feet of water around humps and secondary points. this bite has been the best in years. Also try redworms on drop shot rigs around and in brushpiles in 20 to 25 feet of water. this has worked really well for me here lately!!! Bigger bream seem to be deeper around the brushpiles!!!
The largemouth Bass bite is really hot at night, Use a green pumpkin worm on a shakey head rig around boat docks. Not the floating boat docks, but the ones that won’t move. wooden posts type!! This is a really great bite right now and it’s alot cooler at night. also black Berkley power worms on a texas rig is also working very well. the 10pm till 2am bite seems to be the best time right now.
As always, if your fishing at night, have your lifejacket and flashlight with in arms reach, if not on your body!!!
A mans heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16 :9
Fishing brings meekness and inspiration, reduces our egoism, soothes our troubles and shames our wickedness. Herbert Hoover..
Hello everyone!! The heat is on!! Which only means one thing. To get relief from the heat fish at night. The night bite is the right bite for Stripers, catfish and Largemouth bass. So lets talk about that for a few minutes..
Stripers-Night bite is right. Great action at night with downlines and lights, the lights attract bait, which will have the stripers right there. Main lake areas are great for this type of fishing. the towers has been hot!!! And also that general area in about 40 feet of water.
Largemouth bass- for those of you who have never night fished for bass, your truly missin out on some great action. Topwaters at night around main lake points, humps and around the islands produce brutal, bone jarring strikes.Shear numbers can be caught on good nights. Also shakey head rigs and texas rigs around points, boat docks, and Marina areas.has some great action to be had!! The river sections of the lake are awesome at night also. Get some big 10 inch Berkley power worms and some Zoom ole monsters. there is alot of cover to fish up in the rivers. tons of trees, brush piles and boat docks.
Catfish- this bite is unbelievable right now!!! Hotter than South Carolina asphalt!!! Fish fresh cut bait around points and humps in about 10 to 30 feet of water. the great bite is usually from 10pm till about 2am. Action is fast and furious.
As with everything, night fishing can be dangerous!! be careful. storms can brew up fast.Make sure everything is working properly in your boat before you leave the house. have life jackets handy!! Flash lights close to your person. And basically your boat clutter free!!! Be safe everyone!!!

Link to life- List 3 or your talents and skills. Beside each one, list a way to use that skill for others.
Stripers- Striper fishing is great right now!!! too the point that everything is working. Freelining live bait is working well, but so is trolling umbrella rigs and bucktails, and deep diving crankbaits. Schooling action early and late. topwaters, jerkbaits, swimbaits and bucktails. All taking nice fish.
Largemouth Bass-this action is the herring bite early am. the Bassmasters proved that while they were here. Topwaters and swimbaits and flukes, cast over points first thing in the am. Bite ends quickly. Then try carolina rigs and shakey heads!!! Very good fishing right now!!!
Bream-This action is hotter than South Carolina Asphalt!! My last 3 trips out has accounted for over 300 Bream. Unbelievable action!!! I’m a runner and gunner!!! Strike King bitsy minnow in sexy shad pattern, Rebel teeny wee r crawfish, and the good ole black and chartreuse beetle spin, have produced every single Bream for me!!! I’m sure that the cork and live bait techniques will work well!!!! But i can cover alot of water fishing artificials!!! Rip rap banks and points are best right now!!! Also deep boat docks!!!
Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:24
Happy Easter everyone!!! Absolutely beautiful weather for this weekend..What a great weekend to be on Lake Murray!!
The smokin hot tip of the week would be the Bream fishing!! It started last weekend of the big bright FULL MOON. And has stayed hot ever since!! Love it!! Bream are all over Lake Murrays banks, and more than willing to bite!! rip rap banks and the very backs of the pockets have been super hot!! try some redworms or crickets under a float, with a number 6 hook, and action should be hot!!! But as everyone knows, i’m a runner and gunner!! i fish with 4lb test on an ultralight rod. my go to baits are a Strike king Bitsy pond minnow, and a rebel tiny crawfish crankbait!! The bream can’t stand it!! fast and furious action to be had. run the banks and keep on casting. limits of big bream can and will be caught!!! Have a great week everyone!!!!

How does it go from 80′s to 40′s? Well i guess thats March for ya!! Looks like better weather is instore for the upcoming weekend!!
Stripers- this fishing has been smokin hot as of late. Lots of really nice keeper fish have been caught as of late! There not really starting to school just yet, But i have personally witnessed them blowing bait clean out the water, in the buffalo creek, rocky creek area!! Jerkbaits have been the hot bait for me, the smaller ones with 2 hooks not the big three hookers. Also smaller red eye shads, bucktails and swim baits are really working well. it will not be long before the strong schooling action will be taking place.
Largemouth Bass-As everyone knows, these fish are pre spawn, spawn and post spawn, depending on what part of the lake your fishing. I have seen lots of bass fishermen running the banks lookin for for bed fish. texas rigs and shakey head rigs are working well all over the lake right now. Thats probably your best bet right now.
Shellcrackers-Another hot bite right now, triggered by the past big full moon. 2 to 10 feet deep around points, secondary points, humps and pockets with shell beds. Crackers love shell beds!!! redworms and nightcrawlers on a split shot rig or mini carolina rig is best right now..But if your a runner and gunner like me!! i like to use micro crankbaits and tiny soft plastics that mimic the forage, such as crawfish, shad and tiny minnows. You can cover alot of water quickly! And catch the agressive shellcrackers. Better than sittin waitin for a bite..these baits catch everything, Bass,Bream and White Perch. Love it!!!
Crappies- This bite is hit and miss everywhere. No numbers being caught, a few here, a few there..Spider riggin jigs with minnows covers water, Jiggin over brushpiles catches a few fish, but move on and fish as many brushpiles as you can. Covering water is key right now!!
Catfish- This bite is good, but very soon will become a straight up night bite for bigger size cats. Daytime fishing is drift fishing with cut bait. Cover all depths!! Fish are all over the place right now.
White Perch-these fish can be found shallow and deep, i have seen them schooling, chasing bait!!! but that’s only in the evenings. Small crankbaits and roadrunners catch alot of White perch when there running bait like that. The deep bite is of course with the spoons. 20 to 30 feet of water around bait balls has been great for the most active fish. Lots of numbers can be caught. Buffalo creek up to the rivers is the place to be right now!! Jerk your spoons agressively, they want it moving quick!!! Have a great week everyone!!!!

Don’t know about anyone else, but i’m glad it’s March and the last two months are over!! March means spring is right around the corner. Even though it’s been really warm here lately!! But it looks like things are going to return to normal.
Stripers- striper fishing is getting hot here lately!! With a shallow bite taking place the last couple hours of the day! Jerkbaits and small deep diving crankbaits has been hot here lately. Stripers are chasing bait, but haven’t seen any schooling action going on! Find the bait, then move shallow as in ten feet or less. i’ve been catching some really good fish over 5 pounds. some over 8. drifting with freelines, or slow trolling live bait is also working well during mid day hours.
Largemouth Bass- these fish are also getting going very well. There also chasing bait shallow in the back of the creeks. small crankbaits, jerkbaits and shad raps are working great for these buck bass!! the spawn should be right around the corner.
Shellcrackers- this bite has been hot in about 10 to 20 feet of water. secondary points and in the back of the pockets. Use nightcrawlers and red worms on a split shot rig, or a mini carolina rig for these fish!!
Catfish-this bite is good, drift fresh cut bait in water anywhere from 20 feet to 40 feet. Lots of baitfish up in the river systems right now!!
White Perch- this bite was smokin hot all winter long. Spoons and drop shot rigs catching alot of white perch!! But the bad thing is, with warmer water temps, these fish will scatter out alot more, will become harder to find. I would stay in the river systems where theres alot of bait! Spoons and drop shot rigs should still catch fish for at least another month.
What ever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus. Colossians 3:17
Thought of the day: What are my spiritual resolutions for the new year?
It’s cold out side!!! Hopefully everyone is getting there Christmas lists ready! Family and friends should be spending alot of time together this holiday season!!
White perch- This bite is smokin hot!!! if your not out Perch jerkin, you are definetly missing out on some serious action right now! The colder it gets, the better this bite will get!! the bait balls will school up tight, and so will the white perch. The best bite is from Rocky Creek up to the rivers!! Fast and furiuos action to be had. The bast bait in my opinion is a Berrys Flex it spoon. White or chartreuse?? Depending on water clarity. They have been knocking these things senseless!!! A silver CC spoon on sunny days is also great!! The white perch will knock these things out of your hand also. Since it’s so cold out, proper dress is a must. Dress in layers, and keep a hat on your head! This is where the most body heat is lost. Hand warmers in your pockets are also great to have! Also don’t be supprised if you start catching Stripers also while perch jerkin! There is a very strong spoon bite on the lake right now!! 25 to 35 feet of water is best right now. Have fun and stay warm everyone!!!
You do not know what a day may bring. Proverbs 27:1
thought of the week: No matter what my circumstances today,God will be with me.
hello everyone!! hope every body had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends!! Fishing has been great of late!! colder weather looks like it ‘s here to stay for a bit..
Stripers, Fishing is good for stripers, they are all over the lake right now. Freelining fresh herring seems to be the best bet right now! Bucktails and spoons also producing some decent fish, schooling action has slowed down alot.
Largemouth Bass, this action is slowed down a bit. Try fishing shakey heads around docks and secondary points. Rapala shad raps and red eye shad are also working well. Carolina rigs fished a bit deeper with finesse worms are also worth a try. Also bottom bumping with a spoon in 30 feet of water or deeper, around bait balls is also producing some quality fish.
Catfish. catfishing is really good right now. drift fish in 30 to 50 feet of water with fresh cut bait. Also around main lake points, humps and the river channels. Having fresh bait is key to catching fish!!
White perch. Perch jerkin is on!!!! the colder it gets!!! the better it gets!!! Berry spoons are the ticket. find bait balls in the river sections of the lake, and you will find perch!! Fast and furious action to be had!!! perch rigs with minnows working well, but to boring for me to handle. drop shot rig with Berekley power minnows is an awesome bite..This bite for these fish will be awesome all winter. Have fun!!!
I, the Lord ,will be your eternal light, more lasting then the sun and moon. Isaiah 60:20
thought for the week!!! the light of God shining on us can never be extinguished.
Cooler weather is finally here. It’s been a long hot summer. The fishing should only get better from here on out!!!
Stripers-this fishing has been great all summer, and will get alot better with some great schooling action ahead. downlines and freelines with live herring has been great. Spence islands up to the dam has been the hot areas as of late. Cooler weather and water temps will move these fish to the rivers.
Largemouth Bass- this fishing is great with topwaters early and late in the evening, around long main lake points. flukes and sammys are producing very well right now. shakey heads around these points are also very good.
Shellcrackers and bream-this is a great bite around points, humps and secondary points, in about 5 to 10 feet of water. crickets, red worms and baby nightcrawlers are working great. also for you run and gunners like me!! beetle spins and tiny crankbaits are killin some bream right now, and you can cover alot of water, which is what i like to do. the new moon and cooler temps this week should have them going real good.
Catfish- has been great all summer at night. this bite is getting better and better. Catfish are moving more shallow at night. fresh cut bait is great around humps, islands and points!!!
Do not be deceived, bad company ruins good morals. 1 Corinthians 15:33
thought of the week: God calls us to have a positive impact on our environment.
the hot bite the past few weeks has been the striper bite around the towers. 6 to ten pounders have been caught, as lots of keeper size fish. But as always alot of small fish mixed in. fish live bait anywhere from 20 to 40 feet down. cut bait also working well.
For all you night owls out there, the catfish are biting great at night, but very scattered out from the hot weather. main lake points and humps fished with fresh cut bait is the right way to go. 20 to 30 feet is best. Alot of nice size white cats being caught, along with lots of nice size eating size cats. Fishing at night is a must, plus it’s 20 degrees cooler at night. Good luck everyone!! Cooler days are coming soon..
