Oh what a long wet, cool spring it’s been!! The heat looks to be coming in soon! With warming water temps, the fishing should get real good, reel fast!!

Stripers- this fishing is best freelining live herring! There’s not alot of schooling action going on right now! main lake areas seem to be the best bet! Better fishing should be right around the corner!

Shellcrackers and Bream- this fishing is great in 5 to 10 feet of water around secondary points and main lake points!! Even around the islands also!! Red worms fished on the bottom is best!! they haven’t started to chase artificial baits just yet! Such as small crankbaits and spinners.. The water still needs to warm up a bit!!

Catfish- is great during day and night!! Worms or fresh cut bait is great around secondary points, main lake points, humps and the islands!!

I hope to have better reports, with better fishing soon!! We need some warm weather to really kick things into gear!!! Have a great week everyone!!!

hello everyone!!

The hot tip of the week would be the Striper fishing!! Right now the Striper fishing is pretty much great all over right now!! River fishing is great, all the way up to the dam. Free lining live bait is a great way to go right now! But there has been some schooling action going on. There are absolutely crushing jerkbaits and the good ole faithful fluke!! Bucktails, rattle traps, and swimbaits are also catching some nice fish right now!! Warmer days are right around the corner. So get out and get some of the hot action right now!!

Largemouth Bass- this action is great also! The weekend tourneys are producing sacks over 20 pounds, pretty much every weekend! Umbrella rigs, shad raps, jerkbaits, jigs and shakey heads are all producing big largemouth bass right now! Points and sun drenched boat docks are all the rave right now!! Get out there and get some!!!

Happy Valentines Day!! Maybe your sweetie gave you some new fishing equipment?? How has everyone winter been?? The weather has been up and down all winter. Warm for a few days, then cold for a few days! Seems to have been the crazy pattern!! Spring is right around the corner! The fishing has been good for me all winter, and is getting better!!

Largemouth Bass- this fishing is really good right now. Taking over 20 pounds to win the weekend tourneys!! The typical patters apply. jigs around deep rockpiles! Crankbaits around secondary points, and jerkbaits, jerkbaits, jerkbaits!!! Can you tell jerkbaits are hot right now? Have been very good to me this winter!!

Shellcrackers- as of late this fishing is smokin hot right now in the main lake area!! The lake level has been on the rise with all the rain!! The shellcrackers are shallow back in the trees and flooded cover! Some are very hard to reach by boat!! The main lake has been hot because the water seems to remain pretty clear. the water from the gap up is pretty stained to even muddy!! So i would look for them in the main lake creek channel areas. As always red worms seem to be the bait of choice!

Stripers- seems to be good all over right now! Free lining live herring is the go to method, even with planer boards. But casting bucktails and spoons has been great also!! Stripers are in the river section, also in the gap, and some even in the mouth of the main lake creek channels!!! Just look for concentrations of birds being active!! If there not then move on to another area!!

White Perch-This is hit and miss because they seem to be all over the place right now!! Were not having a very cold winter? So it’s not concentrating them into large tight schools! Just here and there. So you have to look for them, maybe for awhile with your electronics! They can be in 20 feet of water to even 50 feet of water? Really depends on the weather! Sometimes in 10 feet of water! I have found them from the gap way up into the rivers! But as always the half ounce flex it spoons are choice for them!! They love the jiggin spoon!!

Is this crazy or what!!!! It’s December and feels like a warm spring day! Well i guess we will take while we can, because it leads to this!!

Shellcrackers- Once again, this fishing is on FIRE!!!!!!! Hotter than a bonfire on a cold winters night!!! Redworms is the hot producer for these fish!! they just can’t resist em!!! 5 to 10 feet of water has been the key depth for these fish!! Take it from me, if your not fishing for Shellcrackers right now?? Your missing out!!!

Largemouth Bass- This fishing is outstanding from the Big Gap up into the rivers!! Bass are cruising all over the shallows right now!! For a keeper bite, Fish Shakey heads and carolina rigs deeper, as in 10 feet of water or more..Secondary points, and deep docks!! Now for a pure fun numbers bite!!! Run the shallows with a small jerkbait, as in 4 inches or less!!! The bass are just crushing these things right now!!!! I use a Rapala countdown minnow, or a floating minnow!!!! 3 inch or 4 inch!! They will probably eat a 4inch senko also!!!

Stripers-This has been hit and miss for me???? i guess because the hot bite is up in the rivers..I haven’t been up there yet!! But i do know from my friends that the bucktail jig with the ice fly trailer has been producing alot of fish!!! Blacks bridge area has been hot!!!

White perch–i’m going to have to seek professional help! Because i’m addicted to the perch jerking!! Fast a furious action, from the gap up to the rivers. Berrys flex it spoons are the ticket here!!! Find bait and the perch are right there with them!! 30 to 40 feet of water has been the magic depth..remember, the colder it gets, the better this bite will get!!! Love it!!! Gonna cacth some perch tommorrow!! Tip of the week for perch!! If they won’t hit a berry spoon? Tie on a Cotton Cordell 3/8 silver spoon!! Lighter and a bit smaller, but they can’t stand it!!!!!!!

The Smokin hot tip of the week would be the absolutely crazy hot Bream and Shellcracker fishing right now!! Absolutely superb . basically from the big gap up into the river systems !! Where the lake has a little more color to it!! Bream are all over docks and laydowns, hot and heavy. Slip floats with nightcrawlers is a sure bet for these breams. And there eatin size!! Also the tried and true Beetle spins, tiny crankbaits, and small tubes are also taking some really nice fish !! Unbelievable action to be had!! Shellcrackers are right there with them breams. Just a little further out..Fish some red worms or nightcrawlers on the bottom. very nice size shellcrackers to be caught !! With the full moon phase coming in next week, this action should only get alot better..have a great week everyone!!!

The Hot Tip Of The Week!!!

This is the Striper fishing!!! It’s Hotter than Georgia asphalt right now!!! Stripers are schooling all over the main lake right now!  The morning is great!! The middle of the afternoon has been great, and the late evening bite has been great!! stripers are schooling around Spence islands, Goat island and susie ebert island. Hollywood point up to the dam has been outstanding also!! It just doesn’t get any better right now!! Zoom Flukes have been crushing the fish, also topwater baits such as Heddon Zara spooks, Lucky craft gunfish and good ole fashion striper swipers!! Swimbaits have also been producing!! This action is super hot right now, and should only get better!! Go out and get ya some!!

Thought for the week:: Christ is with us to help us even when we’re unaware of it!!!

Well everyone, August is almost over, which means longer nights and shorter days are right around the corner! Which means better fishing!!

Stripers- striper fishing seems to be getting alot better with each passing day!! Lots of schooling action being reported! especially in the evenings, with most fish being on the small size!! Free lines with live herring seems to be the best bet right now!!

Largemouth bass-this action seems to be best in the mornings, with topwater plugs and flukes!! I personally have seen quite a few Bass cruising the shallows the past week or so!! Crankbaits should be great for this action, but the tried and true shakey head is always a great choice!

Bream and Shellcrackers-This weeks full moon should make this a really hot bite!! Bream should be around boat docks hot and heavy!! Shellcrackers are probably a little further out, around secondary points and humps with shell beds on them!! This is always a hot bite around the full moon phase!

White Perch-this action is screaming hot right now, when you can find them. Which can be a little tough. Like stripers! Find the bait, find the perch!! If you have never seen White perch schooling?? I have the past couple weeks!! You think there stripers until you get up on them!! Very small crankbaits and in-line spinners will take them very easily!! And there bigger perch!! Great fast and furious action to be had!!!

The holiday weekend is upon us! Lets all be safe out there, because after this weekend, things should calm down on the lake, boat traffic wise! The fishing only gets better from here!! Be safe everyone!!

First day of August!!! I don’t know about anyone else out there? But i’m sick of the heat! Can’t wait for the shorter cooler days! Right now, if your not fishing at sunrise? Then it’s a night thing! Absolutely scorching hot days!!

Stripers- This fishing is great real early, and smokin hot at night! trolling umbrella rigs or stretch 25′s is a hot ticket right now! night bite is the better bite, freelining or down line herring has been catchin some real nice fish as of late!! Main lake is best, around the towers!!

Largemouth Bass- this is a good one! fish at daybreak, be home by 10am..Fish flukes and topwaters around main lake points. this is the only bite right now that i know of! This fishing in my opinion is as tough as it gets.

Bream-Great fishing with the full moon this week!! Docks are hot,hot, hot!! Especially deep docks with brush around them!! Rocky secondary points and humps should also produce some nice bream!! Nightcrawlers and redworms and crickets should all work well!!

Catfish-great night bite for all you night owls out there! secondary points and humps, anchor down in about 15 feet of water, and fan cast baits. fresh cut herring, bream, white perch, and maybe even some nightcrawlers, will work very well.

Happy 4th everyone!!!!!! Throughout this day, Americans everywhere will celebrate freedom,as well they should. It’s one of the defining principles of there nation. Yet one might ask?? Of those celebrating freedom, how many are truly experiencing it?? Certainly men and women are living the American dream.  They enjoy well paying careers and wonderful homes, thanks in part to political liberty.  But meanwhile their pursuit of happiness has yet to be satisfied.  The reason is that lots of people remain prisoners internally despite their apparent success.  They are bound to anxiety and depression or fear of losing what they worked hard to possess.  We eventually learn that freedom must be realized within.  But how?  The answer if Jesus Christ, Isaiah 61:1  He has come to heal the broken hearted and set captives free.  When we trust Him as savior, the change that keep us from joy are broken.  Then we discover that our needs, desires and total well being rest securely in the arms of a loving heavenly Father.

John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will indeed be free.

It still feels like spring everyone!! were getting some much needed rain!! And still in the 60″s at night!! Feels great!!

The Striper fishing is still outstanding!! You can still catch them schooling early and late!! Jerkbaits, bucktails, rattle traps, and topwater plugs are great for this action!!!Also free lining and downlines with live bait is a proven winner also for better keeper fish!!

White perch- if your a perch jerker like me? This action has been unbelievable here lately!! perch have been ridiculously shallow!! this action is awesome with very small crankbaits, such as a Strike King Bitsy pond Minnow. they are killin this crankbait in shallow water. They like the muddy or off colored water in the back of the creeks!! Hundreds of fine table fare White perch to be had!!! Give this fast and furious action a try!!!!
