Author: the hot bite here on Lake Murray this week would be the shellcracker and bream. Monster shellcrackers are being caught caught all over the lake, shallow as in ten feet of water or less. split shot rigs or mini carolina rigs, fished with red worms, baby nightcrawlers, or crickets are producing alot of nice fish right now. try fishing around secondary points, shallow humps, and pockets with flooded cover. The bream bite is hot right now also. they are all over the banks, especially around boat docks. i like to use very small as in tiny crankbaits, rooster tail spinners, beetle spins and small mepps in line spinners.they are hammering these baits right now. plus you can cover alot of water by using this method.
